People are very particular about benefits and they have to get a clear idea of how the benefits of your products can make their lives easier. Testing different Layouts for your website

Use the statistics to know where your visitors enter your site and where they leave. Test a page from where most of your visitors exit without placing an order.

  • Test different places for your opt-in offer.

  • Layout should be user friendly. Test one, two or three column layout that best suits your product or service and the pattern of your sales copy.

  • Place your navigation links at the top or at the left hand side of your page to make them easily visible to the visitors. Any trouble in navigation will make the visitor to move away from your site.

  • Place a prominent 'call to action' text or button. Try different places or place them at prominent places.

Quickly identifying the new element that brings in more conversion is the key to testing your website. Don't hesitate to drop the one which hurts your conversion. Test a change one by one. If you make a change all at a time to your headline, bonus and call to action, you can't ascertain which change is making difference to your improved profit.

Keep a bench mark to test your changes. If a headline brings in 2% conversion, then keep it as the bench mark to test another headline. If the new one brings in 4% conversion then move up your bench mark to that level to conduct further testing of headlines.

Festivals and other seasonal factors play an important role in your sales. Keep all your testing in the same time frame. Testing conducted at different seasons will not give you the accurate results. You will be confused which change brings in more profitable results.

To get a good sales conversion, start testing your sales copy with particular attention to its headline, main body copy, your product price, incentives and bonuses and the navigation of your website layout.
